Add-ons and fillers don’t usually catch our attention. Until we heard about a certain confusion over different versions of Assassin’s Creed 2. The differences between the PS3, the XBox and the delayed PC versions are obvious when ordering. We went online to check on the differences between the different limited editions.
Those we’ve come across are:
the White limited edition with a bonus mission and an assassin figurine in a standard white cloak.
the Black limited edition with three bonus missions, a figurine with a black cloak, a book and a soundtrack DVD. It’s available in Europe and Australia.
the Master Assassin’s limited edition with a couple of in-game maps, an art book, the soundtrack DVD and the figurine with the white cloak. It’s available in the US.
The Black edition stands out for the extra missions and the black figurine shown below:
It’s a splendid figure but it isn’t going to make anyone play any better. We sourced it at Amazon.fr, where the extra cost just didn’t add up to good value.
If you’re a big fan or a collector all three versions can be ordered at present. If you’re looking for a flashy present for a fan the Black edition looks particularly good as a set. Just make sure you can run the version you get in your region.
Otherwise, here’s the usual Amazon US link to the standard PS3 version.
