Bluefishworks Posters

Print Friendly

Bluefishworks is a UK-based company offering a range of high-quality art and design posters. They also sell a wide selection of art and design books, as well as ‘art packs’ containing multiple copies of various famous works of art for passing round classes.

Our interest is in the posters, because they look good and easily ‘open up’ discussion about art and design on a variety of levels. It’s pretty obvious the posters have been put together by skilled designers, as the layouts are consistently well thought out.

Colour Codes

We’ve pulled an image from the company’s Inside Out series, because the photo doesn’t do the posters justice. Unfortunately, the latest additions to this range aren’t up on the website yet, but they are in the Bluefishworks catalogue. The Inside Out posters reveal the insides of a series of devices. The first set displays the insides of a radio, an iron, an MP3 player and a light. They’re OK but the recently released second set is much better. A mouse, a guitar, a Wii console and an iPhone make for a much more up-to-date set of posters, which can be bought singly or as a set. Hopefully, we’ll get some images of these shortly.

With the new set, younger kids can simply enjoy the images on the posters, while older kids can appreciate both the style and the content. Some of the posters are as much for adults as children, which makes it all the easier to start talking about design.

Packed With Information

The posters come in a range of sizes, so please check before buying. It’s also important to ask about delivery costs if you’re thinking of buying from outside the UK.

Looking Good

The laminated versions are definitely worth the extra cost, as it makes the posters very durable. This is a bonus for schools, colleges and libraries, which can rotate and re-use the posters over many years. Bluefishworks can be found HERE.
